Q: When is the Hahndorf Rifle Club open? 
A: The Range is only open on the first and third Saturday of each month for Rimfire and on the second and fourth Sunday of each month for Centrefire (please refer to calendar), typically from 10:00am unless the forecast temperature is 38 degrees or above (Based on BOM forecast for Mt Barker at 10AM the previous day – http://www.bom.gov.au/sa/forecasts/mount-barker.shtml)

Q: How do I go about joining?
A: You must first contact the Secretary of the club by emailing info@hahndorfrifleclub.org.au  We will direct you through the process

**Please note that the club secretary must be contacted prior to any money being paid for any new memberships and the membership application process followed, this is a legal requirement. Before you apply for membership you need to visit the club and compete in at least two competitions as a visitor (subject to licence status and range office supervision)

If you want to shoot as a member you also need a current class appropriate firearms license (A or B) and a (Club Purpose of Use POU 1) from SAPOL or be supervised by a Member with a POU1 with appropriate class licence.


Q: Do I need ‘Purpose of use 1: Club Use’ on my Firearms Licence before I can be a financial member.
A: No, but you need ‘Club Use’ if you want to shoot unsupervised.


Q: How do I get a POU 1 “Club Use” on my Firearms Licence
A: Visit your local police station and apply, once they send you approval to attend club training we can assist.


Q: How much does it cost to do the test and have the training to get a POU 1
A: We can supply the Training course document for $10


Q: What does HRC annual membership cost
A: $150 per year individual, $170 per year family


Q: What does each Hanhdorf Rifle Club competition cost
A:

Rimfire:      Member – $10.00

Centrefire and Military: Member – $15.00

Visiting competitive shooters

Anyone from a recognised club with a suitable licence and competence that wants to participate in competition will pay normal competition fees.

Visiting casual shooters

Any visitor only wishing to sight in, or that is not licenced, or qualified. Will pay $25.00

(competence is at the discretion of range administrator, generally a target is set at 50 yards and a group is shot and assessed.)

Please note that after 3 shoots you must apply for membership


Q: How much does it cost to Sight In/Practice/Test a rifle at HRC
A: Member Centrefire days- $15.00, Rimfire Days – $10.00     Non Member/Visitor – $25.00
NB. Please pay money first and contact Range Officer PRIOR to bringing firearm to firing line.


Q: When is the best time to visit the club to meet with existing members.
A: Saturday (1st and 3rd week of the month).Sunday (2nd and 4th week of the month) , from 10am,  but be aware most are involved in competition from 12pm onward.


Q: Where can I find Hahndorf Rifle Club?
